Claverdon’s New Playground – June update

We are delighted to let you know that the full order for the new playground has been placed. As planned, it will have three key areas: pre-school; older children (primary school age); and one for outdoor fitness. In total we have 14 different pieces of equipment ranging from a playhouse and swing sets; towers with nets, bridges and slides; as well as parallel bars and an incline press. For a full look at the range of equipment take a look at the playground website:

The new playground will be a very special edition to the village and one of which we can be very proud. We have been thrilled throughout this project by the support we have received and we are immensely grateful. It simply would not have been possible without you.

In this update we would particularly like to thank the Parish Council for their commitment, help and support for this project. For a full list of supporting organisations do take a look at the website. We will also be placing a plaque on the playground to recognise and thank all the organisations.

As mentioned in our previous update, the playground provider is Kompan and the next step is a meeting in early June to discuss the commencement of the project this summer. Once the build has started it will take approximately four weeks to complete. The large children’s area will have matting and turf and it will be important for this to have time to settle and grow before the area is used. Let’s also see what the Government’s COVID-19 advice is at this time for the use of play areas.

The whole team is very pleased to have reached this stage, and we look forward to bringing you further updates in the near future.

With thanks, best wishes and stay safe,

The Claverdon Playground Volunteer Team
