Claverdon’s New Playground – May update

We are very pleased to say that despite the difficult times we are all experiencing we have been able to make progress with Claverdon’s new playground. This is thanks to the support we continue to receive from the village and local area.

Our GoFundMe page has now reached our extended target, and exceeded all our expectations. We have been able to draw down a very generous grant from Warwickshire and West Midlands Association of Local Councils (WALC) of £8,000 by the deadline of the end of March. We are also anticipating the full order for the playground will be submitted in the near future.

The playground provider is Kompan, and whilst the manufacturing plant in Germany has continued operating, the UK offices have paused their operations in line with the Government’s advice. When we have a new timeline for the delivery of the playground we shall, of course, let you know both Parish News and on the website:

As it was not possible for us to reschedule the date for the Quiz and Chips night with confidence it has been cancelled and we would like to sincerely thank everyone who donated the cost of the ticket to this project.

Similarly, AND once again, WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE who donated to the project - a full list of supporting organisations is on the website. Please do lend your support to all the companies who have sponsored the playground, if possible. I am sure they would appreciate it at this difficult time.

With sincere thanks, best wishes and stay safe,

The Claverdon Playground Volunteer Team
